Extending social protection to herders with enhanced shock responsiveness: A study on herders’ behaviour towards social and health insurance

The findings of the study are intended to contribute to decision makers and social partners’ improved understanding about behaviours and behavioural patterns of herders, so as to come up with better solutions to increase health and social insurance coverage of herders by promoting new ideas and innovative solutions with support of technologies where necessary. The research findings will inform the Mongolian Government about possible gaps, bottlenecks and underutilized resources and opportunities with regard to social insurance law and procedures, and delivery of services.
