3. Humanitarian Social Protection

This research theme is oriented towards rethinking humanitarian aid in context of protracted conflict and seeks to make the case for Humanitarian Social Protection. Employing a transformative social protection lens, coordinated social protection policy provisions to refugees could be a pathway forward to durable solutions. This research theme tackles the complex question of extending social protection benefits to refugees while simultaneously linking the need to promote resilience among the host community through developing a framework that links humanitarian social protection to human development processes.
